  • 1/2 cup rice (preferably short-grain)
  • 1 1/2 cups water
  • 1 stick of cinnamon
  • A pinch of salt
  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 1/2 cup evaporated milk
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 tablespoons condensed milk (for added sweetness)

Instructions:

  1. Cook the Rice: In a medium saucepan, combine the 1/2 cup of rice, 1 1/2 cups of water, and the stick of cinnamon. Add a pinch of salt. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat to low and cover the pot. Allow it to simmer until the rice is tender and the water is absorbed (about 15-20 minutes).
  2. Add Dairy: Once the rice is cooked, stir in the 1 1/2 cups of milk and 1/2 cup of evaporated milk.
  3. Sweetening: Add the 2 tablespoons of sugar and 2 tablespoons of condensed milk. Stir well to combine, allowing the mixture to gently simmer for another 5-10 minutes. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking.
  4. Serve: Once the pudding has thickened to your desired consistency, remove it from heat. You can serve it warm, or chill it in the refrigerator before serving.
  5. Garnish (optional): For extra flavor, consider garnishing with ground cinnamon or nutmeg before serving.
